A 12-BORE MIQUELET-LOCK HOLSTER-PISTOL, UNSIGNED, no visible serial number,
Neapolitan or Brescian circa 1690, with iron 9 1/2in. tapering barrel, solid squared top-tang, plain bevel-edged lockplate with large external mainspring and typical ring-topped hammer, walnut three-quarter stock with scrolled butt, brass grip-strap running completely around the butt to the trigger-guard, pillar and shell bow, one-piece brass nose-cap with twin integral barrel-bands, missing ramrod, one side nail and the top nail
Other Notes: This lot was purchased by the vendors father from an Italian boy for 20 Lire (about 1 /- old money) in Teano, Italy March 1944 whilst on leave from the 'front'. It was subsequently carried many miles and through many engagements in his Father's large-pack until his return to England in 1945
