Balkan, circa 1840, with 49in. barrel, traces of etched decoration to muzzle, further etched decoration to the first half of barrel, short plain lockplate with external mainspring, classic hammer with flared jaws and winged tensioning screw, all-metal slender full-stock with fish-tail butt, applied and inlayed brass decoration, the action and butt with engraved floral arabesques and further mother of pearl inlays, four brass engraved barrel-bands and provision for ramrod (missing)
