French, circa 1770, with two-stage 8in. re-blued barrel banded at the intersection, applied silver band and boat-shaped fore-sight at muzzle, raised top-tang at breech, flat bevel-edged lockplate with stepped tail faintly signed 'BOUTET' (rubbed), carved and engraved hammer, lozenge-shaped pan, engraved frizzen, walnut full-stock carved around the top-tang and ramrod channel (tip of fore-end renewed, crack to underside behind ramrod throat), silver furniture including long spurred florally engraved butt-cap, trigger-guard tang with pillar and shell bow, full sideplate and ramrod pipe and throat, wood ramrod with ivory tip a possible replacement
