26in. nitro chopperlump barrels with broad matt rib, open sights and folding leaf sight with silver sight lines and marked for 100, 300 and 500 yards, ramped bead fore-sight with hood, the tubes engraved 'CHARLES LANCASTER. 11. PANTON ST. HAYMARKET. LONDON. NON-FOULING SMOOTH OVAL BORE RIFLING', elongated treble-grip action with side-clips, removable striker discs, automatic safety with inlaid 'SAFE' plaque, non-selective single trigger, chequered steel triggerguard tang, border engraving, retaining much original colour-hardening and finish, 14 5/8in. figured semi-pistolgrip stock with cheekpiece, fore-end with grip-catch release lever, weight 10lb., in its brass-cornered lightweight leather case

Provenance: This Lot is accompanied by a sheath of papers which show that this rifle was completed circa September 1912 for Consul James Keiller of Gothenburg.
