circa 1800, with re-browned slightly swamped 30in. octagonal twist rifled barrel, brass dove-tailed blade fore-sight, standing notch with one folding leaf rear-sight, hooked breech with gold-lined touch-hole, engraved top-tang, border and scroll engraved step-tailed lock with traces of colour, signed 'STAUDENMAYER, LONDON', roller bearing to the frizzen spring, semi-rainproof pan, sliding safe behind the hammer, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist with raised cheek-piece, spurred iron heel-plate, border-engraved trigger-guard bow also engraved with a hare, scrolled pistol-grip iron trigger-guard tang, pineapple finial, two take-down wedges with oval silver escutcheons, horn fore-end tip and original brass mounted ramrod
