manufactured circa 1860 by Tipping & Lawden, with blued fully fluted 2 1/2in. barrel-group signed 'H. HOLLAND, 98 NEW BOND ST. LONDON (foresight bead missing), fully borderline and scroll engraved silver-plated brass frame, central hammer with rotary striker-nose, two-piece gutta-percha grips with relief-moulded acanthus scrolls, the back and heel-straps engraved with an interlaced ribbon design, blued sheath trigger COMPLETE WITH its English market walnut storage case, burr walnut veneer to the lid with inlet brass shield-shaped escutcheon, the interior compartmented and lined in dark blue baize and containing a cleaning rod, the inside of lid with parchment 'H.
