circa 1840, with 3 1/2in. side by side barrels, the moulded central top-rib signed 'W. HOLE BRISTOL', bead fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, engraving to rib-end, the top-plate with borderline and scroll engraving, borderline and scroll engraved side-hammer boxlock action with rounded and radiused edges, engraved hammers (nipples absent), finely chequered walnut grip with borders to the chequering and heel, engraved domed iron grip-cap with central trap, guarded double triggers and captive iron under-barrel ramrod, traces of finish throughout
