A RARE .450 (BOXER) SIX-SHOT SINGLE-ACTION REVOLVER, MODEL 'SINGLE-ACTION ARMY ', serial no.15146, WITH FACTORY LETTER AND HOLSTER,
for 1875, with blued 7 1/2in. barrel signed 'COLT'S PT FA MFG CO, HARTFORD CT USA', auxilliary beaded blade fore-sight, sighting groove to the top-strap, London proofs, iron frame (traces of colour) with front mounted cylinder retaining screw, fluted cylinder, iron grip-straps and trigger-guard bow, smooth walnut grip, additional lanyard ring to heel, under-barrel ejector-rod with 'bullseye' thumb-piece marked '45B', retaining traces of original finish TOGETHER WITH a period pigskin full-flap 'Slim Jim' holster and a Colt provenance letter
Other Notes: The letter lists this pistol as one of 50 similar pieces destined for the Colt London Agency leaving the factory on October 28 1875. It also lists the calibre as '.44 Ely' (sic).
