29 3/4in. nitro reproved chopperlump barrels, ribs engraved 'F. BEESLEY (FROM PURDEY'S) 2 ST. JAMES'S STREET. LONDON. CORNER OF PALL MALL.' and gold-inlaid '1' and '2', the tubes engraved 'WHITWORTH'S FLUID PRESSED STEEL' and with acanthus scrollwork at the breech ends, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. in all, No.2 with traces of pitting, Beesley patent treble-grip actions with carved leaf fences, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, best fine bouquet and scroll engraving, No.2 left lockplate signed 'F. BEELEY', brushed and blued finish overall,14 5/8in. well-figured stocks, weight 6lb. 8oz., in a brass-cornered oak-lined leather case
