A 12-BORE SELF-OPENING SIDELOCK EJECTOR, serial no. 14087,
30in. nitro reproved Whitworth-steel chopperlump barrels, rib address re-engraved, left wall thickness at 19, 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, toplever engraved '1', removable striker discs, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, arrow cocking-indicators, best bouquet and scroll engraving, retaining slight traces of original colour-hardening, pins blued and triggerguard re-finished, 14 1/2in. well-figured stock (minor setting crack to rear of safety), weight 7lb.
Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that the gun was completed on the 29th August 1891 for a George Evans Esq. The gun was completed with '30in. barrels, 'ordinary' rib, snap fore-end, as a hammerless bar action, Whitworth, ejectors, intercepting safety, stocker - Matthews and put together - Hopewell'
