30in. black powder only replacement Whitworth-steel barrels, rib engraved 'WHITWORTH FLUID STEEL BARRELS BY ATKINSON. LANCASTER', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, some internal pitting, Purdey patent first pattern double-bite snap action thumbhole underlever, patent no. 1104 of 2nd May 1863, carved percussion fences, rebounding back-action locks with dolphin hammers, border and acanthus scroll engraving, some wear and patination overall, 14 1/4in. figured stock (loss to left overhorn) including steel buttplate, weight 7lb. 3oz.
