likely conversion from pinfire, 29 1/2in. black powder only bold damascus barrels, rib engraved '2' and 'BOSS & CO. 73 ST. JAMES'S STREET. LONDON.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. in both, heavily pitted internally, action incorporating later development of Casimir Lefaucheux patent forward facing underlever, patent no. 5183 granted 13th March 1833, carved serpentine fences of pinfire form, non-rebounding back-action locks, replacement crosspin, border and fine acanthus scroll engraving, some wear and patination overall, 14 3/8in. stock including steel buttplate, fore-end with some damage, weight 6lb. 8oz.
