Taylor 1897 patent detachable locks with scroll engraving and engine turned finish, rolled-edge triggerguard, profusely engraved with very fine acanthus scrollwork, the makers name inscribed in fine bold acanthus scrolling banners on a matt background, retaining virtually full original colour-hardening and finish, the triggerguard tang gold-inlaid with the serial number, 14 7/8in. highly-figured stock, fore-end with Deeley & Edge patent release catch and horn finial, the fore-end iron screws with fine beaded border and acanthus scroll detailing, weight 5lb. 10oz.
