for 1876, with nickel-plated 2 1/4in. barrel, the top signed 'COLTS PT FA MFG CO' over 'HARTFORD CT USA', the left side etched 'COLT NEW .30', nickel-plated fluted cylinder and solid frame (push button cylinder release button a probable replacement), spurred hammer, sheath trigger and rosewood smooth birdshead grips, retaining virtually all its original plated finish
