A 16-BORE FLINTLOCK BRASS-BARRELLED AND MOUNTED HOLSTER-PISTOL, UNSIGNED, no visible serial number,
probably for naval use circa 1740, with triple-banded slightly swamped 9in. barrel, London proofs and makers mark 'HD' surmounted with a fleur-de-lys at breech, iron tang, brass radiused and borderline engraved lock, iron hammer and bridle-less frizzen, walnut full-stock with smooth, uncapped bag-shaped butt, brass furniture including serpentine side-plate, wooden ramrod (tip missing, some pitting to iron surfaces)
