A PAIR OF 28-BORE PERCUSSION SIDE-HAMMER BELT-PISTOLS, no visible serial numbers,
circa 1840, with octagonal brushed bright 3in. barrels, engraved bands at muzzles, bead fore-sights, the top-flats signed 'BOSTON, WAKEFIELD', scroll engraving to the top-flat at breech, brushed bright scroll engraved boxlock side-hammer actions with radiused corners, the top fitted with standing notch rear-sights, scroll engraved hammers (one with spur broken off and missing), sliding safes behind the hammers, blued spring-steel belt-hooks mounted to the left hand sides, chequered walnut bag-shaped butts with white-metal rectangular clipped corner escutcheons to wrists, concealed automatic triggers and captive iron ramrods on re-finished under-barrel ribs
