WILKINSON SWORD, LONDON
A RARE FAIRBAIRN-SYKES COMMANDO-KNIFE, MODEL 'TOM BEASLEY',
one of only 200 hand forged by Tom Beasley in 1950 on behalf of Wilkinson Sword, the bright 6 5/8in. blade etched in a triple-banner with the inscription 'HAND FORGED BY TOM BEASLEY, THE FAMOUS SWORD SMITH, OF STALINGRAD SWORD FAME', the reverse etched with a panel 'COMMANDO FIGHTING KNIFE WORLD WAR 1939-1945' above another containing the maker's details and 'MADE IN ENGLAND' (tip rounded), iron boat-shaped cross-guard (traces of gilding), smooth pale orange ivorine grip swelling near the guard and flaring at the pommel (large chip near guard, two hairline cracks forming), bun pommel, together with its brass mounted black leather scabbard

Other Notes: A number of variations of this knife exist. Most have a slightly shorter inscription and can be found with chequered or ribbed hilts as per the original and also smooth ivorine as represented here
