with rubbed London hallmarks (possibly 1703), tapering 30 1/2in. blade of flattened oval form, the forte with slab-sides inlet with yellow metal scrolls, double kidney-bean silver guard with raised carved and engraved decoration, large pas-de-ane, 'D' shaped knuckle-bow (opposite quillion missing), bulbous pommel and wood grip with remnants of silver wire binding, no scabbard, distressed
