pre war, with blued 3 3/4in. barrel, blued sighted slide with the Zella-Mehlis address and marked 'WALTHER'S PATENT', blued frame, side magazine release, black bakelite chequered grips and black bakelite finger extension to magazine, much original finish remaining; COMPLETE WITH its manufacturers presentation box, the outside finished in black pebbled leatherette and bearing a rectangular metal name-plate inscribed 'COL JOHN H. VINES', the interior lined in wine-red velvet with compartments for the pistol and magazine, the interior of lid with 'Walther' banner printed to the padded satin liner
