A 22-BORE FLINTLOCK HOLSTER-PISTOL, no visible serial number,
circa 1745, with swamped iron 8in. brushed bright barrel, borderline engraved sighting plane at breech with tear-drop terminal, the top signed 'LONDON', london proofs and barrel-makers mark 'IB' surmounted with a crown for J. Brazier, solid border engraved top-tang, border engraved radiused lock with pointed tail signed 'FREEMAN' forwards of the hammer, unbridled frizzen. walnut full-stock with rococo carved apron around the top-tang and dropper points, swollen pommel with long-eared brass butt-cap (grip broken through and repaired), brass furniture including pierced and engraved border side-plate, shaped escutcheon at wrist engraved with a unicorn above a wreath and 'No1', horn tipped wood rammer (frozen)
