A PAIR OF 40-BORE FLINTLOCK 'QUEEN-ANNE' PISTOLS FOR RENOVATION, no visible serial numbers,
circa 1720, with turn-off 4 1/2in. cannon barrels (frozen), London proved octagonal to sixteen-sided breeches engraved with borders and scrolls and signed on the top-flat 'I. DAFT', solid squared top-tangs, radiused floral engraved locks with pointed tails, the engraving inhabited by mythical serpents, unbridled frizzens, walnut half-stocks with long-eared iron butt-caps and iron trigger guard bows, silver wire scrolls inlet to wrists, iron 'running vine' sideplates, both pistols with losses and faults, one pistol broken through at fore-end with further losses to wood around lock, the other with substantial losses to wood and badly wormed
