29in. sleeved nitro barrels, retaining original rib engraved 'JAMES WOODWARD & SONS. 64 ST. JAMES'S STREET. LONDON. S.W. MADE OF SIR JOSEPH WHITWORTH'S FLUID PRESSED STEEL', and gold-inlaid '2' at the breech end, slight damage to under rib, 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke, arcaded fences, toplever gold-inlaid '2', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, fine acanthus scroll engraving, the underside engraved 'WOODWARD'S SINGLE TRIGGER', brushed bright finish, 14 5/8in. replacement stock (repaired crack at head), including 5/8in. ebonite extension, weight 7lb. 1oz.
Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that this gun was completed in 1908 for an A.E. Baker. It was made to match gun no. 5722
