the blade possibly 17th century and 17 1/2in. in length, visible hamon (some tarnish, mild pitting and re-polishing to edge), early style iron tsuba and mounts, some gilded detail and gilded floral menuki under the binding, complete with its mottled brown laquered saya in imitation of wood and a matching 'kozuka'
