circa 1815, with octagonal 9in. twist-iron barrel, the top-flat signed 'C. OAKES HORSHAM' (badly rubbed), acanthus leaf engraved panels and single gold line to the breech, platinum lined touch-hole, acanthus engraved top-tang with moulded rear-sight, border and acanthus leaf engraved lock with sliding safe behind the hammer, rainproof pan and roller bearing to the frizzen-spring, walnut half-stock with chequered bag-shaped butt (worn smooth), guarded plain trigger and brass mounted wood ramrod, some shallow pitting to iron parts
