circa 1860, with slide-forwards slightly shortened 29in. twist iron barrels, scroll engraving to top-tang and rear faces of standing breech, border and scroll engraved back action locks signed 'MONTIGUY A BRUXELLES' around the hammer-bases, highly figured French polished walnut chequered butt-stock with iron long-spurred heel-plate, conventional double triggers, the hinged barrel-opening lever laying along the underside of the fore-end with a trigger release at the tip, the sides of the fore-end and underside of lever with inlet chequered panels of gutta-percha
