circa 1840, with blued turn-off rifled 2 1/2in. barrels engraved at the join, border engraved squared boxlock actions signed 'STONE' on the left and engraved with birds in flight with olive branches in their beaks on the right, dolphin headed central hammers with top-tang sliding safes, slab-sided walnut butts full chequered on the sides and with oval silver escutcheons to the wrists, guarded triggers, of Belgian style but London proved
