circa 1870, with blued 3in. barrel-group, plain silver-plated brass frame signed 'TIPPING & LAWDEN SHARP'S PATENT' in a circle around the hammer axis screw on the left hand side, centrally mounted blued hammer with rotary auto-indexing nose, gutta-percha grips embossed with foliage and long bar push button opener; TOGETHER WITH its mahogany English market storage case with brass shield-shaped escutcheon to the burr-walnut veneered lid, compartmented and lined in blue baize and containing a cleaning rod and notes on Christian Sharp
