A LARGE 18TH CENTURY HUNTING KNIFE, UNSIGNED, circa 1725, central European and probably originally part of a trousse, with heavy reverse hatchet-tipped 14in. blade, reverse cutting edge for the last 4 1/2in, shallow blind fuller along the back-edge for approximately half its length, pinched iron mount with carved semi spherical ferrule, the wood grip swelling at the pommel and carved with spiral bands interspersed with flowers and capped with a stylised sunburst
