A GOOD SAW-BACKED SWORD BAYONET FOR THE MARTINI-HENRY RIFLE,
dated for April 1894, with straight 26in. spear-tipped blade, blind fullers to both sides, the back-edge with saw teeth for 9 1/2in., makers stamp along with inspector's marks and issue date at forte, iron 'D' shaped knuckle-bow, chequered composite grips held with three pins and release catch to the pommel, complete with its iron mounted black leather scabbard, unissued condition with some storage marks
Other Notes: This bayonet was purchased by the vendor along with another, similar, in South Africa during the 1970's after a cache had been found languishing in a British Army depot and were put to auction
