circa 1862, with octagonal 4in. barrel marked 'ALLEN & WHEELOCK WORCESTER M.S.U.S' over 'ALLEN'S PAT'S SEPT. 7 NOV. 9 1858' with a further patent date to side of breech (rubbed), plain cylinder, rounded iron frame with plain side-hammer, smooth flared walnut grips and sheath trigger
