A .32 RIMFIRE SIX-SHOT SINGLE-ACTION REVOLVER, MODEL 'BACON', serial no. 2,
circa 1862, with 3 7/8in. octagonal barrel, the top-flat signed 'UNION ARMS CO, N.Y.', dove-tailed fore-sight blade, sighting groove to top-strap, solid iron frame, the radiused action with American scroll engraving, plain cylinder, traces of colour hardening to the spurred hammer, smooth walnut flared grips and sheath trigger, all parts numbered '2'

Other Notes: Bacon Mfg. Co. were one of many US firms that used fictitious names to disguise their products true origins in order to avoid legal action over the infringement of Rollin White's patent for the through-bored cylinder, in this case 'Union Arms'.
