Belgian for the UK market circa 1875, with octagonal 3in. barrel, the top-flat engraved 'THE GALAND PATENT SELF EXTRACTOR', stepped cylinder, articulated frame sliding forwards to extract the cartridges, opening lever also forming a spurred trigger guard bow and chequered walnut bag-shaped grips, traces of blued finish
