A SCARCE 12mm (PERRIN THICK-RIM) SIX-SHOT DOUBLE-ACTION ONLY REVOLVER, MODEL '1859', serial no. 428,
circa 1860, with round 6 1/4in. barrel, bead fore-sight, octagonal breech tapering back towards the throat, plain stepped cylinder, open frame, lift-up load gate, spurless hammer, smooth flared walnut grip, iron butt-cap with provision for lanyard ring (ring only missing), scrolled trigger-guard and centrally mounted ejector-rod, the whole with patchy dark staining to the original 'in the white' finish
