A .38 RIMFIRE SIX-SHOT SINGLE-ACTION REVOLVER, MODEL 'NEW MODEL POLICE CONVERSION', serial no. 6614,
circa 1875, with nickel-plated 3 1/2in. barrel, the top-flat with make, patent and model details, crescent fore-sight, sighting groove to the top-strap, plain plated cylinder with detachable back-plate, plated solid frame, smooth flared walnut grips and brass trigger-guard, the original loading lever retained for use as an ejector, much original nickel plated finish remaining, the side of muzzle and underside of heel stamped with a large number '12', possibly a Police rack number.
