WHITWORTH'S FLUID PRESSED STEEL', and gold-inlaid '1' and '2' at the breech ends, 2 3/4in. chambers (No.1) and 2 1/2in. chambers (No.2), bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke (No.1) and 1/4 choke both (No.2), No.2 left wall at 18;
extra 28in. nitro reproved barrels, ribs engraved 'BARRELS BY ALEX. MARTIN. 20 ROYAL EXCHANGE SQRE. GLASGOW. & AT EDINBURGH & ABERDEEN.', and '1' and '2' at the breech ends, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 3/4 choke, much loss of bluing in places to all barrels;
treble-grip actions with carved leaf fences, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, actions, lockplates and furniture swept over for a full crossover (right shoulder, left eye), border and acanthus scroll engraving, brushed bright finish, 15 1/4in. figured crossover stocks including 3/4in. wooden extensions, No.1 with crack to rear of left lockplate, weight No.1 with original barrels 7lb., and 6lb. 13oz. with extra barrels, No.2 with original barrels 6lb. 10oz., and 6lb. 12oz. with extra barrels, all housed in a two-tiered brass-mounted oak and leather case with lift out barrel tray provisioned for all four sets of barrels
