circa 1858, with 5 7/8in. octagonal barrel, the top-strap signed 'JOSEPH HARKOM, EDINBURGH' (rubbed), dove-tailed fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, the left hand side of barrel fitted with a complex articulated rammer signed 'JOSEPH BRAZIER'S PATENT NR 499', solid iron borderline engraved frame (safe and arbor spring removed and missing, arbor pin replaced with a screw), plain cylinder with London proofs, double-action mechanism with spurred hammer, chequered walnut saw-handled grip and shallow domed iron butt-cap, worn throughout
