dated for 1822, with round tapering iron 10in. barrel, boat shaped fore-sight, raised sighting ears to the top-strap, the breech with inspectors stamps and off-set nipple, flat lock with radiused tail dated 1822, sliding safe behind the hammer, remnants of the original brass pan stamped below with an American eagle device and 'S. NORTH, MIDLTN, CONN' (rubbed, partially illegible), walnut three-quarter stock (cracked through and repaired behind lock and sideplate), full iron grip-straps, doves-head pommel-cap, broad barrel-band and captive iron ramrod
