circa 1780 with later conversion to percussion via drum and nipple from flint, with tapering round brass 9in. barrel signed at the breech 'LONDON' within a steeple border terminating in a tear-drop, solid iron engraved top-tang, borderline engraved flat lock signed 'T. KETLAND & CO' (shallow pitting, vestiges of pan, original apertures for flintlock parts plugged), walnut full-stock (losses around lock), brass furniture including short tailed domed butt-cap and 'S' shaped side-plate, possible original horn-tipped wood ramrod
