ED. WUSTHOF, SOLINGEN
A GERMAN NAZI-PERIOD 'RAD' ENLISTED MAN'S HEWER,
circa 1938, with heavy hatchet-shaped 9 3/4in. blade and etched with the motto 'ARBEIT ADELT', makers mark beneath 'GES GESCH' together with 'RADJ' within a triangle on the left hand side, solid nickel-silver cross-guard and hilt, stag-horn scales (right hand side a possible period replacement) and 'eagles-beak' pommel, with its original black painted metal scabbard with nickel fittings and its original belt hanger (hanger brittle and cracked)
