circa 1870, with blued octagonal 6in. barrel signed 'ADAMS PATENT SMALL ARMS CO. 391 STRAND LONDON', dove-tailed block and blade fore-sight, sighting notch to top-strap, two-piece frame with side-plates, plain blued six-shot cylinder with matching number, 'Adams Patent' and 'AJ' monogram trade mark to frame, hinged loading gate, chequered one-piece walnut grip, iron pommel-cap with eye for lanyard ring, separate half back-strap and captive under-barrel ejector rod, the whole re-finished and complete with a rare period leather 'letter-box flap' full flap service holster for same (losses to muzzle and stitching)
