circa 1819 and converted from roller-primer or 'scent-bottle', with 30in. twist iron barrels signed on the raised top-rib 'FORSYTH & CO PATENT GUNMAKERS, LONDON', twin gold bands and scroll engraving to breech, large drums and nipple conversion, engraved top-tang with ears touching the border engraved bevel-edged locks, both stepped forwards and aft and signed 'FORSYTH & CO, PATENT' (inlets from original mechanism), dolphin headed hammers, re-finished walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist (old inlet repairs), iron furniture (some refreshment to engraving detail) and possible original ramrod
