A RARE 9.5x47R BOLT-ACTION SINGLE-SHOT TARGET-RIFLE, MODEL 'MAUSER 1895 TARGET', no visible serial number,
possibly a prototype or unique one-off (see note below), with blued slightly tapering 29 1/2in. barrel, large dove-tailed 'U' shaped fore-sight with central blade (possibly broken off), large dove-tailed locking tangent rear-sight, rounded brushed-bright unmarked receiver, the rear bridge inlet for possibly an auxilliary peep-sight, straight bolt handle, chequered flag safe and bolt release catch, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, large raised cheek-piece, the right hand side of butt inlet with a shield-shaped escutcheon engraved 'A. MAUSER', large iron hooked Swiss-style heel-plate, complex double finger-spurred trigger-guard bow, double set triggers and moulded tip to fore-end, the whole remaining in fine, probably original, condition
