circa 1840, with octagonal twist iron 6in. barrel, the top-flat mounted with a concave triangular cross-section sprung bayonet retained via a catch on the top-tang, the top-flat signed 'LIVERPOOL', fenced snail at breech, border and scroll engraved back-action lock signed 'WILLIAMS & POWELL', sliding safe behind the hammer, walnut full-stock with chequered bag-shaped butt, brass tipped ebony ramrod and single barrel-key (traces of finish, old repair to top right edge of fore-end)
