circa 1850, and similar to a Webley 'Longspur' revolver, with octagonal 6 3/4in. London proved barrel, pillar fore-sight, plain cylinder with safe notches between the nipples, open iron frame with wingnut barrel release, both the breech and the action side marked 'JOSEPH BRADDELL & SON IMPROVED PATENT REVOLVER', longspur hammer, chequered walnut grips, articulated rammer to left side of barrel and guarded trigger, traces of finish in sheltered areas, the remainder lightly frosted and pitted
