circa 1830, with round 2 3/8in. turn-off barrels, border and acanthus scroll engraved Birmingham proofed round action bodies signed 'MERRY' on the left in a trophy of arms, blued and engraved side hammers, concealed automatic triggers, sliding safety catches to the top-straps and chequered walnut bag-shaped butts compete with paktong butt-caps with central trapdoors in a later walnut case adapted and compartmented in green baize for these pistols and containing a flask, scissors ball-mould, loading rod, measure and turn-screw, the inside of lid with reproduction 'HEWSON' label
