dated for 1840, with round iron 6in. barrel, Tower proofs at the breech, solid top-tang, borderline engraved bevel edged lock of flintlock pattern signed 'TOWER' and marked with a crown over 'VR' device together with the date, stepped tail, walnut full-stock marked '12' in the wood behind top-tang, heavy brass furniture, long iron belt-hook and loose lanyard ring to pommel, captive iron under-barrel ramrod
