A 20-BORE FLINTLOCK BRASS-BARRELLED BLUNDERBUSS, registration no. S-2060,
for Sligo, Ireland circa 1765, with round two-stage 14 1/4in. barrel, flared banded cannon muzzle, moulded band at breech, the top of barrel signed 'DUBLIN' together with the registration number, the breech stamped with London proofs and maker's mark 'RT', borderline engraved lock signed 'RICHARDS', pointed tail, walnut three-quarter handrail stock (cracked through and repaired at wrist in antiquity), brass furniture including heel-plate (the spur also stamped with the registration number), trigger-guard tang and bow with acorn finial, octagonal cupped side-nails and turned ramrod throat and pipe, ramrod a later replacement
