circa 1770, possibly French, with brushed bright side by side 9 1/2in. barrels, plain top-tang with broad carved sighting groove, plain flat bevel edged slightly curved locks with stepped and pointed tails, lozenge pans and bridle-less frizzens, walnut full-stock with carved borderlines along the edges of the fore-end and ramrod channel, floral apron around the top-tang and ramrod throat, carved borders around the locks with teardrops to rear, bulbous iron pommel-cap with long side-spurs, pillar trigger-guard bow with bevelled edges to the tang and finial, the double triggers adapted for left hand use in antiquity and turned ramrod pipes with replacement turned iron-tipped ramrod
