dated for 1880, with 25in barrel marked 'WHITWORTH PATENT', block at muzzle for blade fore-sight (absent), elevating ladder rear-sight, flip-up breech marked 'MANUFACTURED BY WESTLEY RICHARDS' together with the triangle trade-mark, flat signed and dated lock, external hammer, walnut full-stock with iron furniture including heel-plate with central trapdoor, single barrel-pin and barrel-band and provision for ramrod (missing)
