AN 8-BORE PERCUSSION FOWLING-PIECE or BANK-GUN OF EXCEPTIONAL LENGTH, UNSIGNED, no visible serial number,
assembled circa 1835, with possibly earlier iron swamped 72 1/2in. barrel, private proofs, plain top-tang, plain back-action lock with filled inlet for sliding safe behind the slab-sided hammer, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist (small chip at toe), brass furniture, copper nose-cap, under-rib with three thimbles and ramrod throat, possible original ramrod (exposed iron surfaces pitted except lockplate)
